Pony Junior Commandments

  1. Do stuff the night before races! Check bike tires, brakes and gears the night before.
  2. Arrive early.
  3. No smartphones or electronics of any kind at the race or especially in the proximity of our tent. Parents put your phones away too!  First violation results in a phone forfeited to parent. Second is phone confiscation for one week.
  4. Write your name or initials on all of your stuff in permanent marker.
  5. Bring your own chair. Keep your stuff under your own chair. Put your stuff back in your own bag(s) after dressing and put all in tent before race.
  6. Don’t leave your bike on the ground or in the tent. Use racks.
  7. Stay out of the Pony Seniors tent.
  8. Don’t use anyone’s tools without asking. We have spare wheels, tubes, parts, etc. but coaches and mechanics don’t give out tools.
  9. All parents regardless of mechanical knowledge should have a multi-tool in their pocket at all times.
  10. Don’t bring junk food or packaged food - please feel free to bring fruit, non-sugared juices, quality sports drink, or food you made yourself.
  11. Eat breakfast ~4 hours before the race! Don’t eat anything but light sports nutrition until after the race.  Cookies and treats are great after the race.
  12. Notify coaches of issues, bike problem, missing helmet, etc. as soon as possible.
  13. Pick up after yourself and try not to leave things behind.
  14. Keep it POSITIVE.  We will not tolerate negative cheering, bad mouthing, arguing with officials or bullying of any kind. Positive/encouraging cheering for team and other racers only, please.
